Cisco Catalyst 4500 Supervisor Engine V is an extension of the Supervisor Engine IV offering higher switching capacity of 96 Gbps. Some of the advanced features of this engine include Broadcast Suppression in Hardware, Multicast Suppression, enhanced Quality of Service, etc. The Supervisor Engine V is compatible with all Catalyst 4500 Series chassis (for instance Catalyst 4503, 4506, 4507R, and 4510R chassis) and is highly secured for advanced control of converged networks. The Cisco Catalyst 4500 Series Supervisor Engine V is extremely robust supporting additional throughput of converged data, voice, and video networks to enterprise and metropolitan customers. This particular Supervisor Engine being extremely economical provides high scalability to handle the network applications of today and the future.
